They ask me
“what will happen
if AI takes our jobs
and massive parts
of the country
have no work?”
And I wondered
why I was being asked.
Since I’m not a scientist,
I’m not an economist,
I’m not an analyst at
Mckinsey, I don’t know
what the WEF, the ECB,
IMF, or the CPI are, I’m not
a programmer, or a cryptographer,
and or anything really, besides a poet.

And that’s when it hit me.
They’ve heard what all the rest
have to say, about the prospect
of an entirely new world to navigate,
and now they want the poet’s.
